Plus, I simply spend more time in the code than most people. Many people complain the game takes too long to load, but I spend way more time in the loading code than any other source of the game (even the map-maker). Much of that time is simply code-checking & debugging the offline mode that is used to fill item strengths and levels.
Furthermore, since it was my friend Jason, and we were extremely close, he sure trusted me with his project. But he sure wasn’t wrong to; I’ve worked on this game for years as my hobby, testing and trying to make it perfect. The fact that I would keep his secret to myself, and he would trust me to that to only one other human being, is admirable. Said that, of course.
Finally, this game was a concept that I’ve had for over 25 years. This is my game. This is my body of work. Before this game I built a couple of Roguelike games (one of which unfortunately I lost the source for), but I’ve always found it difficult to develop games for multiple platforms. There’s always that big thing holding a game back, or I find a bug in the engine that takes forever to fix (like in my Rixstep Engine ).
